Feyza Güliz Şahinyazan (IE BSc '10 and MSc '12) has been awarded second place in "Doing Good with Good Operations Research Student Paper competition" in the Institute for Operations Research and Management Science (INFORMS) annual meeting held in San Francisco, this November. Doing Good with Good OR - Student Paper Competition is held each year to identify and honor outstanding projects in the field of operations research and the management sciences conducted by a student or student group that have a significant societal impact. The awarded paper is a part of Feyza's Master's Thesis supervised by professors Bahar Y. Kara and Mehmet R. Taner. In her thesis, Şahinyazan has designed an efficient mobile blood collection system for Turkish Red Crescent.
