Industrial Engineering (IE) is the scientific discipline that is concerned with how best to organize people, information, money, and materials to produce and distribute services and products efficiently. It draws upon specialized knowledge and skills in the mathematical, physical, and social sciences together with the principles and methods of engineering analysis and design to specify, predict, and evaluate the results to be obtained from such systems.
The overall objective of the graduate programs in the department is to conduct fundamental research in industrial engineering and operations research in accordance with scientific and technological developments, and to provide the students with a strong analytical basis for advanced theoretical work or for development of new approaches to applications.
Student exchange programs support our international identity through international mobility of undergraduate students. These programs, thanks to their multinational and multicultural environments, contribute to the academic and intellectual maturity of our students as well as enable us to continuously develop our own curriculum by exhibiting our teaching processes in international academic settings and being influenced by the successful implementation of other distinguished programs around the world.
